This product is GS-441524 injection solution, it is a colorless and transparent liquid, withouth sediment and odor. The concentration is 30mg/mL, 10mL per vial, that is to say, each vial contains 300mg of GS-441524.
It is mainly used to treat cats diagnosed with FIP. GS-441524 can inhibit FCoV viral RNA replication, block viral spread. The cat situation will be improve in 7 days after treatment. GS-441524 injection can alleviate fever, ascites, and neurological symptoms, thereby improving the cure rate of FIP cats.
The injection is administered subcutaneously, absorption is rapid, so it is very suitable for cats with urgent conditions or those unable to take oral medication.
Cat FIP is a devastating viral disease, it is considered as fatal and incurable. FIP is caused by a variant strain of feline coronavirus (FCoV). FCoV is common in many cat environments, for example, shelters and catteries, but only 5-10% of these cats will develop into FIP.
FIP mainly has two types: wet FIP and dry FIP. It is most common in cats under 2 years old and older cats. Because these kinds of cat have weakened immune systems, or their immune systems are not yet fully developed.
In the past, there was a lack of effective treatments for FIP, and the owners could only prolong their lives through supportive care (drainage, antibiotics for secondary infections). Today, the advent of the targeted antiviral drug GS-441524 has revolutionized FIP treatment, with survival rates exceeding 80% with early treatment.
GS-441524 is an antiviral drug that has shown promise in the treatment of feline infectious peritonitis (FIP), a viral disease caused by certain strains of feline coronavirus. As of my last update, GS-441524 is primarily used off-label in cats with FIP.
The dosage of GS-441524 injection for cats with FIP can vary depending on factors such as the cat's weight, the severity of the disease, and the veterinarian's assessment. Dosage regimens may also vary based on individual response and the specific formulation of GS-441524 being used.
